Rise

A narrative lyric video set inside a symbolic biological machine.

The idea

Hardun’s first single called for a lyric video, but the design was treated as a short narrative. The band’s emblem and mood-board references became a dark, metaphorical journey through a living meat grinder.

Behind the work

Production notes.

01

Start with the band’s own symbols.

The band supplied a reference folder for its first single. Their emblem became the strongest anchor for the shapes, palette, and world of the film.

02

Let the lyrics inhabit a place.

Instead of placing type over an abstract loop, the words move through an interior machine. The ordered narrative sequences make the lyric video feel like a complete journey.

03

Build the grinder in layers.

Visual references, emblem fragments, scene studies, type, and animated passages were assembled in After Effects into a dense mechanical-organic system.

01 / Process log

A lyric video with a narrative

Rise was approached as a story rather than typography placed over a generic loop. The song’s theme, tempo, and audio events determined how the words would travel through the film. Because this was Hardun’s first single, the band supplied a reference folder and its emblem became the main visual anchor.

02 / Process log

Inside the meat grinder

Formal storyboards were unnecessary, but the narrative scenes were arranged without text to test their sequence. The core metaphor places the viewer inside an organic-mechanical meat grinder. Mood-board images, emblem fragments, scene designs, ordered captures, and lyric typography were layered in After Effects into the final machine.
